Hi hi,

Newbie who just build her first home, (Okay it was pre-fab) but one thing that bothers me is that anyone walking by can hear me inside my home/property. Is there any way to mute either your home or property?

I checked the box about sparilat (sp?) sound in my land box, but can still hear talk/pose/scripts being used inside my home and property. If there's a settling, or maybe a home security device I need to buy for this, I would be thankful for any answers.

Hiya Motoko

Welcome to SecondLife and congrats on your first build :-)

As far as I know there is no known way to mute your home, You can set access in your about land options tho so only you and those you allow can enter onto your land, You can stop outside noise bout right click your land, About land, Media, and there an option right at the top before you put in the music (can't remember quite what it says)

You can also buy security devices that you can put on your land to stop people entering.

Another way to stop people testing your poseballs (if the poseballs contain the right kind of script) you can hide/show them whenever you want, usually by typing /hide or /show, That way if you hide them others can't see them.

I hope you find the information your looking for and enjoy your secondlife.

Nat

eh yea and na

if you have access to scripts, most use a llSay, which is found within 20m in any direction of the source, llWhisper is better cause its 10m, esp on a smaller plot, AV's? im not shure of a way to whipser in the chat window...

llSay is a 20m radius, so from the centerpoint of the object you get a 40m 3d sphere

llWhisper is a 10m radius, so from the centerpoint of the object you get a 20m 3d sphere

course if your making the scripts you should be using instant message (2 sec delay) or ownersay

if you dont have access to the sctipts your pretty much "at the mercy of the author" for objects, again i dont know of a way to whisper from the chat menu :)

(personally if your that private use a voice chat, like yahoo or skype hehe)

Alternately, you can use IM to communicate with another person, which is completely private. If you chat with more than one person, you can create a group for yourself and your frinds and use Group IM which sends the IM to all members of the group at the same time.
