I would have figured it is in the stickys on tiny jewelry. Did you try the knowledge base?

I think I have just the thing...

I recently wrote up all of this:
/8/56/191989/1.html For spheres, check under "new possibilities" and "if all else fails". Options are limited with that shape. If you want I could try finding a way to add it to the Example Uses too. |

Sara, I have a sculpt map for an extremely tiny sphere. In it's native size (.5x.5x.5) it is too tiny to see. IM me in game and I'll be happy to give it to you.

I've made tiny spheres via sculpt baking in Carrara 5 Pro - by changing the elevation shader in my sculpty baking shader. I suppose it could be done in other programs that do texture baking as well. In Carrara, I just make the elevation blend larger as opposed to the physical size of the sculpted mesh.
I mention it on the wiki where I posted the Carrara method. Sorry, not a free program though, and needs a couple of plugins to work. https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/User:Hypatia_Callisto/Carrara_Sculpt_Baking#The_Shader _____________________

Here's a general technique you can try for making tiny versions of any sculpty. Take the sculptie bitmap into a 2D paint prgram and lower the contrast. As the colors turn to medium gray, the vertices are getting pulled into the center. Quantization error is going to increase as it gets smaller; you'll just have to try it and see whether you like the results.
Don't do this _instead_ of controlling the size in SL. Controlling it in SL will give better results. Only use this trick if you want to make it even smaller that you can in the normal way. |

I've done that with less than satisfactory results - which is why I do the scaling in my baking procedure now I have good control over that, comparatively._____________________

Whoops, I forgot to tell you!

There's one last thing to do, which will allow your tiny spheres (made from the hollow insides) to look just perfect!
-> Just set your sphere's Twist to 180 and 180 <- This has the effect of turning all of the sides inside-out, so your already inside-out center will now look like a perfectly normal sphere. Now lemme go fix up that guide. |
