Make a prim box, make a new script inside it, copy and paste the following into the script (replacing the original contents):

default
{
state_entry()
{
llSetText("click me and I say your UUID", <1,1,1>, 1);
}

touch_start(integer total_number)
{
llSay(0, (string)llDetectedKey(0));
}
}

From a previous thread. When you touch the prim it will say your uuid. Then you can just copy it down somewhere.

A UUID is a string (key) that uniquely identifies objects, notecards, everything in SL, including avatars.

You can look up any avatar's UUID offline as well, even ones who have chosen to hide their profile from search. I do it using this simple front end, courtesy of Tateru Nino:
http://taterunino.net/searchform.html

At the bottom of the listing you will see a link. The long incomprehensible string within that link is the avatar's UUID.

For example, yours is: ... well, anyway. People get sensitive about having their UUID thrown around, but really it is public knowledge, and there is nothing particular that it enables, griefing-wise.
