Dark Wood

*** Better viewed in SL, we have set up an area (on my roof, Outlands (Stanford(100,100))) for the display of the 3d model and other neat objects for the project. ***

This is the proposal for The Sentinels (Nexus Nash's Team).

Our themed project will not be a busy metro or city with skyscrapers. We have been planing to make a quiet area, but with a mystical\magical twist. For all of you Warcraft fans out there at LL, think of that.

USe of Land
1. See 3d map, Stanford (100,100).

Layout
1. The them is orriented towards a quiet yet mysterious village in the depths of Dark Wood forest.
2. See the map layout in SL.
3. We plan (when completed) to have a nofly zone (can we get running!?!) and also all damage (town being a safe zone).

Plans (every feature from SL will be used)
1. We will be making Avatars (elves, orcs, dwarves...)
2. We will make weapons (bows & arrows, swords, crossbows, staffs...)
3. We will be modeling a small town.
4. We will also be giving lessons on scripting, modeling...
5. We will be hosting gathering (parties, meetings, KEGERS...)
6. We will be scripting special effets.
7. We will be making costumes (all within the theme and for all races)

Special Events
1. Pub nights! (yay!)
2. Sword fights do the death (good vs evil) in the depths of Dark Wood forest
3. Archery contests.
3. Plays, fishing, boating, harvesting by day. Hunting evil by night...
(this is why I want a 2 hour night cycle!) or an option to control the time of day and the weather on your property

Plans for buildings
1. Every member will have his or her own place. (residential)
2. The layout will include archery range, houses, church, docks, pub, inn, blacksmith, lumbermill, wind mill (for wheat and corn),
butcher, baker, farm land, town hall, farm house.

Special effects (if permitied)
1. We plan to have a evil\good theme with the day night cycle. Ex: at night fog will roll over the hills
bird sounds will change to creapy sounds. At night we also plan to have little red eyes appear in the trees
2. At night we wanted to make the fog roll in over the cemetery and the fields. (Only if it does not hawl down FPS)
3. Wind mill and Lumber mill will be fully functional.
4. At night, we are planning to have all the houses seem lit.
5. For the church, we plan on having the stained glass from angles, during the day, to demons at night.

Plans for the Town
1. The village itself will be tightly packed, with the river seperating it from the dark wood. (see model in world)

Adavatage of having a smaller set.
1. Having a smaller amount of buildings will reduce server strain and make our community lag free and smooth running.
2. We will have no problems with an object limit.

Models
1. We have made a working lantern with glow + scripted so that the av holds it up. (included in the proposal)
2. A sword model has been made.

BULDINGS
Archery range - will be in town and be made of two targets and stands. tournaments will be held here.
Baker - Will be in town, making yummy cakes and stuff (what ever you Lindens like)
BlackSmith - Will be in the town, will be making weapons and whatever else out of metal. Will sell custom weapons not found in the store
Butcher - Will be in the town, making yummy T-Bones
Church - Will be outside of town in forest of Dark wood (+ cemetery)... Dare to approach at night?
Crop Land - Will be harvested by day and fog coverd (if permitted) by night.
Docks - Will be in the town, where all the ships that come in with fresh warriors and goods
Farm house - will be near the field closest to town. Home of the farmer.
General store - Will be selling everything that is relevant to the theme... it might be open for the public to sell items... but this will be controled if implemented
House - Will be on the out skirt of the town and in the town. Some will be owned by members of the team
Inn - will be in town, will have a small pub inside with rooms at the top on the second floor.
Lumber Mill - Will be in the Dark wood by the river turning with the power of water. Working by day stoped by night. The Lumber mill will be surrounded by tree stumps..(duh)
Pub - In the city, will be drinking by day and by night! ;p (for those Lindens who had a long day)
Town Hall - will be the focus of the town. The town hall will have a working clock tower. It will be used to hold community meetings and events
Wind Mill - Will be near the fields turning with the power of the wind. Grinding wheat for the baker
