Hi
Does anybody know how I can apply a material (like a numbered test pattern) to my sculptie in Blender which I can then export to an .obj file and then import as a 3d layer in Photoshop CS3 extended?
Many thanks,
-Milla

Hi, Milla;
I am not 100% sure, what you intend to do. I guess, you want to create surface textures for your sculpties ? It also is not clear to me, whether you have got sculpties, which you want to "import" into blender first, or whether you already have .blend files which already contain your sculpties... In any case, afaik blender allows to export to .obj files, but i also have heard, that there are several different ... flavors... of .obj around in the world. If your goal is to create surface textures, you might want to watch our video tutorial about "Surface textures for sculpties with blender" at http://blog.machinimatrix.org/tutorials That shows at least in principle, how to apply an image to your sculptie surface. From there it is only a small step towards using other (procedural...) materials and bake your sculptie skin... If your goal is to import sculpties into blender, consider Domino's scripts. Then export to .obj or whatever... sorry, that my answers are a bit vague... But maybe you can clearify your intentions in a little more detail ? |
