I want to make a trunk with a hollow space and a bottom from one prim; I can hollow a box but the hollow goes all the way through.
Do I start with another shape?
It must be possible because I bought a 1 prim box like this...
Thanks for any help ...

I can think of how to make a round hollow box with a flat bottom in a single prim (think cake box), but not a rectangular one.

Not possible.
Can do it with 2 prims really easily though.

For whatever reason I thought we were talking about a 1-prim hollow tree trunk. Here's what I wrote on how to do that....
This is one of many reasons I love the Tube prim. Take one of those, remove the hole by setting Y Hole Size to .50, and Hollow it. Now, to do what we want to do next, it's probably best to start by setting the Twist Begin and End both to 180. Setting these two to this same value shouldn't initially make a difference to how your prim looks, but it will give you more options on your next step. Take the Profile Cut settings and tweak them around until you have cut out the center 'pole' of the prim along with whatever amount of the top that you wish to remove.
The cutting out will slice along a line coming from the center of the rectangle, so you will have a dent coming down the center of the bottom of the prim. For sure though, it works.

From: Dnali Anabuki Thanks all. It appears the trunk I saw was built off world and imported in..see Maya import thread..the trunk pictured is exactly what I saw. Thats 7 Prims. I wished we could build Objects like this and import them as a single Prim. Ok, there is no Point in beating a dead Horse, we will use the good old Prims like... forever.
