Eyeglasses - shades

I made lenses, tinted, about the right size. While on a posing pedestal, I fitted the glasses to my av. First try - not too bad. But this is weird... after getting off the stand, the glasses are linked to my eyes! How can I link them to the head, instead of the eyes? When my eyes move, the glasses move -- freaking me!!

Please advise is there is a tutorial on eyeglasses or shades. I can build a house, but this is a whole new challenge!

Take off the glasses. Then get on the pose stand. Find your glasses in the inventory, right click and choose "Attach to .." and choose "Nose."

The positioning will be off, so you'll have to fix that. But that should do it :)

Lo -- Thanks so much! It works!
Still pretty crappy glasses, but at least they stay with the nose :)
I added side parts, but they're not quite right. Lots more to learn here.

BTW- That's a beautiful signature line --- profound.

I wouldn't call those crappy at all, especially for your first try. They look rather nice. :)

Praise is like cool water in the desert :p

I'm learning that building very small objects is a very different experience than larger objects such as houses, etc.

I spent more time chasing the selections around than I did building. Kinda funny- I would select an item to edit, and the camera would go flying! Gotta get a hold of the camera thing.
Another thing-- my av's hands sometimes block my view - very strange problem!
I think I read about defaults and options -- will study (when I'm not goofing off in SL

Yes, micro-building is a whole new world.

There are a few tips... there's a checkbox somewhere for automatic camera movement that might help. Also, if your hands are getting in the way, stand further away when you are editing, or if you are editting an attachment, use a posing stand so you'll hold still. Rickard Roentgen sells one of the best posing stands around, but there are also freebee ones that don't have any features aside from holding you motionless.

Wow there is this word for the bane of my life? Last time I tried to make a pair of simple shoes (that looked real crap anyway) I turned the world purple with swearwords.
