I've received a report that an avatar I sold didn't have the advertised permissions. I want to test it out thoroughly but I'm not sure of the best way to go about it. I'd like to recreate the buyer's experience as closely as possible, but only my main account is on XStreetSL. If I just transfer a copy of the avatar in question to an alt account will the permissions they see be the same as if they'd bought it? I'd rather not register another account on XSSL.

Thanks!

It should be. Also, you could always send the item to the alt via XStreet-SL with the "gift" option. They do still support that, right?

Actually unless your alt is a member of Xstreet, the transaction won't go through. My friend tried and tried to send me some things from Xstreet before I was a member and it wouldn't work. I don't remember what message it would give, but it was something along the lines of "we can't send purchases to nonmembers."
I'm thinking the best way to do it is to ask a friend to test it for you who IS a member of Xstreet or you can just get your alt on xstreet.

I'm an alt account, so I'm not as new or stupid as I look. My other account was born in 2006 ;p

I'm testing by passing to an alt and now they can copy and mod just fine but when they take the piece back into inventory the new copy has become no copy/no mod. Do I have to set the level of every single texture and script for it to stop doing that?

Since LL acquired XStreet, everyone's automatically a member now.

And yes, every texture and script in a prim can effect the object's overall perms.

Hi Bodhi! Are you using the "Debug Permissions" setting in Advanced? if not, it may help you in the future or perhaps even with this problem:

Before putting something on XStreet, pay particular attention to the F (folded) permissions, as well as the slam bit!

Cool, Nika! I saw those letters and didn't know what they meant. Hopefully this will help me sort it out. :o
