How do you make a heart?

Hi!
I tried searching on the subject in the building forum, but had no luck. I'm new to SL, and I was wondering if anyone could explain how they could make a flat heart shape. I've seen glasses in SL with that shape, and I was just curious.

Logically, I would think you could do it with 2 prims, but I'm still learning, so I'm not confident.

Can you save me some time and frustration?

Thanks!

The eyeglasses were most like made with textures that have transparency. The actual prim is probably a flat rectangle but the part that is outside of the heart shape is not visible. Go directly to the textures forum and check out the sticky thread for the alpha channel guide. Have fun.

While I cannot answer your question, I did send you a single-prim heart I made once, full permissions. It only looks really good when viewed head-on, but it is interesting nonetheless.

I can no longer remember how it was made, but I found the instructions here on the forums while searching for information about prim torture. I tried the instructions and it worked perfectly the first time.

Good luck in your quest for the info, wish I could help better.

A flat simple heart is easy to make with 3 prims

Start with a square, and turn it 45 degrees to make it a diamond

Take a cylinder and cut it to 50% to make a half circle, with the diameter of one side of the cube.

Take the half cylinder, copy it, and place it against 2 adjacent sides of the diamond.

Voila, you have a heart.

Yup, makes sense, and sounds easy to do. I blame my headache for not thinking of that myself :)

Thanks for the prim, Robby! I also tried the 3-prim approach...which was embarrasingly simple, so thanks for that too, Dnel. Now I just need to make it smaller!

If you want to learn to make things smaller, read the 'How to make tiny prims' sticky at the top of this forum.
