well I feel kinda stupid posting this after I just got done posting my tips and tricks post about sculpties but this one kind of snuck up on me.

I’m having a problem exporting a sculpt map for the model linked to at the end of this post.

Its modeled and everything looks good and it exports alright however when I preview it there is a noticeable seem (see attached image) on the model which isn’t in the geometry. I got a little trigger happy when I was previewing it and accidentally uploaded a slightly previous copy of it though little if anything has changed about the sculpt map that was generated.

In the preview there was just a seem however from the rezed prim you can see that the geometry is really screwed up and dosent resemble the preview and things seem to be sliding slowly down hill.

I haven’t changed anything about how I modeled this and I’ve been using the default Exporter settings so for all Ps and Qs it should be working fine.

On the other hand I did notice some discrepancies between some earlier sculpt maps I’ve made. It seems to be a little brighter compared to some other successful sculpties I’ve made using the same method illustrated in the zip file.

Hopefully someone can help me (and get a free model to generate a sculpt map from!)

You might want to try out the new sculpt Torus shapes. for round sleeves

howto example pictures, getting them to work:

lsl script:

Created the torus shapes in sculptypaint; that support torus type's in latest version

well thats not really an answer to my question. It may work however I'de like to solve this problem. I really dont see why this isnt working and I'de really like to get it straightened out.

though thank you for the information, I've been wondering how people get torus sculpties.

well i tried the scripting method to fix the problem it both worked and didnt work.

on a torus the seem is gone but on any other sculpt prim type there is a large noticeable seem. this is a bit annoying because now I have to concentrate on hiding these seems.

is anyone else having this problem?

Unfortunately, the zip file seems to be a maya format ... not much use to ppl like myself who use other 3d modeling software. Also be nice to have the sculpty texture.

Could you post the model in a .obj format ?
