Tortured Prim i've never seen

Ok, I saw a prim on a build that has me stumped, and I thought i knew how to twist up just about anything. It appears to be a cube hollowed and then cut on two sides, to make an 'L'. However, the angle isn't 90 degrees, its more like 130-140 degrees. In the picture i approximated what it looks like with two prims in the foreground. It's definetly one prim though, and not a sculptie. So anyone know how they did that?

Without seeing the original, it's hard to tell, of course. But my guess is it's simply a hollowed & cut cylinder.

If you cut from .46 to .54, you're left with just two sections out of the 24 total that make up a cylinder. Size and rotate it right, and it looks like your obtuse L shape.

I have to go with Chosen here, It looks very much like a hollowed cylindar slice.

Looks like a cube or a prism with non-equal sides, using twist (same angle for top and bottom) and cut. If one side is longer than the other, twisting faces will produce a shear effect as well as rotation. It becomes more noticeable the bigger the length difference is.

I agree with Blake. Here's what you do:

Take a fresh cube and give it these profile cuts

B: 0.125
E: 0.375

Set both twist parameters to 45

Reduce the x length to 0.250

Then hollow it.

Opps, ha ha yeah. Hollowing it is kinda necessary. ^_^

Very cool. By setting both twists to 45, you effectively turn a square into a diamond. It's so obvious now that you say it, I feel a bit silly for never having thought of it myself. Thanks. :)

One issue, though. You meant path cut, not profile cut, right?

... yeah. I keep mixing those two names up. Cube type prims only have path cuts.
