Me!

Chosen, you rock
![]() You're seemingly endless knowledge (You can give advice on programs you've never used!!) has helped so many people, likely everyone who has ever asked a question in the content creation forums. I applaud your drive, and your willingness to answer questions as completely as you can. I recently went to the end of this forum, the very first page... and it seems that you've been answering questions almost as long as they've been asked here... and you have always answered completely, and with a lot of thought. You've helped me personally on numerous occasions, in ways that..well..only you could most likely. Your knowledge spans from texturing to modeling to just about everything else. How one person could have the time to learn all that you've said in these forums (Let alone share that knowledge!) is beyond me, but I for one, and I'm sure many others, are so very gracious. Thank you for your presence ^_^ Let us not forget, all the others who have offered their knowledge in aid to others.. DanielfFox Abernathy, possibly the most knowledgeable person in SL when it comes to sculpties, who has shared knowledge, experience, feedback, and even some wonderful video tutorials. All of your shared knowledge has been archived through these forums, and it shows how much you know and are willing to share. Omei Turnbull, the creator of the Wings3d exporter... I'd be huddled in a corner without you You make it so seemingly easy, and with so very few problems.Yuzuru Jewell, the creator of Rokuro, Tokoroten(?), and now Nomi. You've brought us some wonderful tools, and though english isn't your best language you've always been able to get your point across, and have paid attention to feedback here on these forums. Your tools make something otherwise very difficult so very easy. I applaud your thoughtfulness in what tools to make, and your follow-through when it comes to feedback and updates. Chip Midnight, up there with DanielFox when it comes to sculpties. I haven't had much of a chance to talk with Chip, so I honestly don't know much to say, but your sculpty creations have inspired at least me, and shown me what's possible. Your work is a benchmark for the rest of us to strive to achieve, and when it comes down to it, you're always a step ahead. You offer your knowledge when you can, and have made a wonderful tutorial (One? I'm not sure if only one =/). Your presence is certainly helpful ^_^ Strife Onizuka.. well.. for tons. Scripting, the wikis, moderating, being cool in general.... but he has a whole thread so thats it for here ![]() Cel Edman who brought us Sculptypaint, and who, just as Yuzuru has, has listened to the residents about problems, wanted features, and kept his product up to date. A wonderful, surprisingly simple yet powerful tool, and lots of knowledge to go with it. Without sculptypaint, I never would have started sculpties at all, so from me personally, thank you!!!!!!!! Forever ![]() Continued in next post (Seems it was too long) _____________________

ME!(Cont.)
12-18-2007 09:10
Vlad Bjornson, whom I haven't seen much from in my short stay here, but who posted a video tutorial as an introduction to sculpties as a whole, and which is quite wonderful. I can't say much else without searching the forums
![]() Void Singer, who is not as active in building as in scripting, but whose knowledge has helped many over time. I've seen her activity in many places, and it's always a good thing. I have yet to see something bad ![]() This is by no means everyone, that would take far too long to list. I've tried to name everyone who has created a tool for use in building for Second Life that is well known and widely used, and I've tried to mention those who have impacted my experience personally within this wonderful World we call Second Life. Thank you, not only to those listed above, but to everyone here on this forum, for your presence, your knowledge, your patience, and your time. Without the residentsh ere on these forums we would be nothing, far lost, and unimaginative, a world made of plywood boxes. Once again, I thank you, from the very deepest bits of my soul. You've all made this place s wonderful and helpful, with such rare bouts of negativity. The knowledge amassed in these forums is enough to last anyone a lifetime, and enough to start a career on. Be well, be creative, and never stop imagining the next step in the process of creating a living, breathing world for all to enjoy! -Okiphia Rayna _____________________

Wow! Thanks so much guys, not only for the sentiment, but also for your timing. I'm really, really touched.
I've been feeling pretty miserable and useless the last 24 hours or so. (I'm sure anyone following the news can figure out why.) This post has reminded me how to smile during a time when smiling is not an easy thing to do. You have no idea how grateful I am for that. _____________________

I'll join in too!
Thank you everyone Okiphia mentioned (thanks Okiphia) for your generosity and your help. It gets a bit overwhelming to get through all the SL's tech specs at first and you've all made it so much easier with your explanations, the helper files and the tutorials.. If I may, I'll add DanielFox Abernathy to the list of thanks, and his Wings3D tutorials that I've been learning a lot from lately. Chosen, I follow the news but I can't figure out how it would affect you. Could it be the 'Odd News' story on Yahoo News about monkeys and college students being equal at mental math? That may explain why you have to repeat yourself so often about the optimum resolution of uploaded images for SL! ............ I'm just kidding Thanks for all your help ![]() |

big Shout out to Chosen

Without a doubt one of the smarter people hanging out in the forums is Chosen Few. Always quick with a word of helpful encouragement and direction. I've even witnessed a well deserved little spanking (from a distance) to some that had the gall to try and seem smarter. I try to absorb every word you type.
Thanks Chosen you have helped me and many others learn much in this vast complex world. Cheers! |

Chosen, I follow the news but I can't figure out how it would affect you. Not exactly a major news site, but the story broke here: http://slpodcast.com/2007/12/17/22-electric-sheep-employees-fired/ Other blogs and news sites are slowly picking it up. I'm not sure why it hasn't hit the mainstream news yet, but it's got to sooner or later. Look at my new signature, and I'm sure you can figure out the rest. It's not a fun boat to be in right now for any of us, but new opportunities abound both inside SL and out. It will be an adventure to discover what lies ahead. Anyway, thanks again, everyone, for all the kind words. Regarding all the other people who were mentioned (and not mentioned) as well, I whole heartedly agree. The content creation forums are full of kind, helpful souls. Everyone here contributes to making these forums what they are. It's a wonderful community to be a part of. _____________________

OH GOD, they actually fired you? Dang. Come here and have a hug. (My contract at uni will run out soon, too, I dread the moment even now...) - A big hug for all you have done! It won't give you an income, but it might give you some strength to go on with life-we are all thinking of you! (And in a GOOD way, mind you) Edit: Dang, you have switched pms off.... Edit two: ....and I'm too daft to read...just ignore me.... *blushes* @Okiphia: What you said-I don't really have anything to add.... ![]() _____________________

It is not just the vast depth and breadth of his knowledge, but also his willingness to write long detailed posts. There have been many times when I read the OP's question and I had an inkling what the answer might be and I wait for Chosen's post. He puts it into words so well, clarifying and deepening my understanding of the subject. I have learned a great deal this way.
Thanks. And while were at it, another big thanks to Omei Turnbull for his helpful posts and his Wings sculptie exporter. My sculptie business is really starting to take off and his exporter is one of the tools that made that possible for me |
