Items, clothes, jewlery, hats, handbags and home furnishings How do you make that?
Do you make that from the building tool in game? Or do you use something on your PC to make that?

Would this stuff be something you make with the building tool in SL? |

You use the building tool to make 3-dimensional items (furniture, hats, jewelry, prim-clothing, etc). It's fun to just start playing by rezzing a prim and experimenting with all of the tools and options, but you might also want to check out a class -- search for educational under events and you'll see what is out there. There are also great resources, such as the Ivory Tower of Primitives, where you can learn oodles.
Happy building! _____________________

Ok so you use the build tool in game to do that. How do you make it so you can use them? (Like put on something or sit on something) Has Orientation Island changed recently, or did you just skip over it? Either way, no big deal. You'll find the answers to all these questions in the help documentation. You can view it in SL from the help menu, or in a browser by navigating to your SecondLife\help folder. However since you asked here, I'll answer here. To attach an object to your avatar, simply right click on it, select "Attach" from the pie menu, and then select the body part to which you want it to be attached. It will attach with default rotation and positioning, meaning you'll likely have to maneuver it from there to place it exactly where you want it. If you take it off after that, make sure you use the "Wear" command instead of the "Attach" command when you put it back on or else you'll have to place it all over again. With "wear" it will remember where it was last. To sit on something, again, right click on it, and the select "Sit" from the pie menu. As for your earlier question regarding clothing, one thing that was not mentioned in the previous answer is that the build tool is only for making things out of prims, which means things other than clothing. While you can make certain clothing'ish items out of prims (armor, capes, hats, etc), actual clothing is not made with the build tool at all. It's done entirely with textures. The most popular programs for that are Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, and GIMP (in that order). To learn how to do that, download the Template Collection from the downloads section of this site, and read the instructions that come with it (the PDF file called Fashion Design Guide). After you read the directions, if you need any further help, mosey on over to the texture forum, and ask away. Have fun. ![]() _____________________

I mean like. If you build something like: Items, jewlery, hats, handbags and home furnishings. How do you use them after you build them? Like if you make a chair looking thing out of the building tool in game I don't think you can right click it and sit in it. And is there anything to make: Items, jewlery, hats, handbags and home furnishings. Out side of game? Like is there anything you can download?

You can just right click on the chair you made and choose sit. If you want to sit a certain way or position you would need a script inside the chair to do that.

So I can just make something that looks like a chair out of the building tool in game right click it and sit? EDIT: Ok I see what you mean. You where talking about a script to sit a certain way. Is there scripts that I can like get off the forums or do I need to make my own? |

Both. If you check out the LSL wiki (Google: lsl wiki) it has descriptions of all the codes and some tutorials aswell. Sitting can be as easy as just placing your avatar to as complex as giving it a special 'pose' or way to sit - Cross-legged, feet up, laying down etc...)
You can also ask within the scripting forums here and quite often you'll get a response within the hour ![]() - Jolan |
