On land I can edit, I am having a lot of trouble getting the type of trees I want. I keep getting palm trees or evergreens covered by snow. Why on earth is it not possible to edit the tree after rezzing it.

Ok, that was a rant. My real question is, what is the easiest way to get regular deciduous trees. Is there some trick of timing or something?

Look in your Inventory under the Library folders. The Linden trees and plants are all in there somewhere. You can just pick the one you want and not have to use the random ones that you get with the edit tool.

Once you find the tree you want just drag it from your inventory to the ground. You can also copy an existing tree. Right-click and choose Edit on the tree that you want, then hold down shift while moving the tree in edit mode. You'll get a copy of the tree in the original position.
