Temporary Objects and Prim Limits

This is probably a newbie question (and I guess I am still one of those anyway), but, do objects that are rezzed temporarily count towards the prim limits on a piece of property. If I wanted to use a holographic vendor, would the image it produces (if temporary), count toward the prim limits?

I hope that is enough information to get some answers or advice. I have been very happy with the information containted in these forums and the answers I have received so far.

Thanks

I believe so. I also heard that there is some delay in updating the prim count. For example, when you cycle through your holographic vendor, the server is not updating as fast as you're scrolling.

Anyone know any more about this?

I believe as pointed out at Hiro Pendragon's class the sim update is 60 seconds. Not positive, so yes the holo prims will count while they are rezzed.

60 seconds! This explains ALOT! I was wrestling with my vendor yesterday and ended up banging my head on my desk a few times in frustration. I had no idea there was a delay. Course, I probably didnt read the fine print, as I should have.

Objects that are set Temp to rez do not count toward prim limits. However, through my own testing, exceeding certain limits through this method is a bad idea for your sim due to the amount of strain the scripting required to do so will place upon it. Holovenders set up to do so are usually not any more of a strain than most standard venders however. (or if you have your holovender temp to rezzing a 200 toroid prim object, that'd be bad too).

If you make the holo items temporary on rez, this eliminates the problem. In my mecha store, I had avs that were roughly 200 prims big. Quickly scrolling through the vendor quickly overflowed my prim limit. However, this was easily solved by making the objects temp on rez. The prims don't count towards your property limit, and automatically disappear after 80 seconds.
