I am a hair designer, and I am thinking about adding a Prim Resizer script to the hairs I make. I am doing this for customer convenience only. I am not doing this to protect the hair from being copied (all my hairs will continue to have Mod/Copy permission). Question: Do you find Resizer Scripts useful for prim hairs? I've read every thread I can find on the SL Forums about this topic, and opinions seems to be strongly divided. So I really really want to make sure I do this right Right now, I include 3 sizes in every package (S, M, and L). I plan to continue having 3 sizes in every package. The Resizer is just an additional option to fit a hair. I plan to use the "tnResizer" script, which will only place 1 script in the root prim. It does not put scripts into the child prims. So lag shoulld be minimal, esp if the script is not in use: https://xstreetsl.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=504154Since the hairs will have Mod/Copy permission plus 3 sizes, would you still use the Resizer script to resize the hair?

Natalia, I buy your hair because it DOESN'T have those annoying resizer scripts. I appreciate the fact that you are sensitive to the lag issue, but I think that your current practice of offering three sizes is a much better solution than using any resizer script. My guess is that the average SL buyer will find it much easier to grab one of the three sizes and plop it on her head than to fiddle with a script. I certainly do, and I write scripts.

No, I would not use the script. I buy only mod hair, and find resizing it very easy, so I wouldn't need the 3 sizes you offer either so long as it is mod. If you included the script in all your hair, it would be an extra step for me to find it and delete it.

I really, really wouldn't bother, Natalia. Resizer scripts in hair are, in my experience at least, a waste of time. It's perfectly simple to resize the whole linkset with the edit tool, and, anyway, the important modifications you need to make -- at least I need to make -- always seem to involve adjusting the position or rotation of a few individual prims -- which is why I find resizers no compensation at all for the hair being no mod.
Since your lovely hairs are mod, anyway, it's completely unnecessary, I think.

Thank you so much for the feedback. Wow, it's a pretty unanimous hatred of Resizer scripts!
BTW, I totally agree with all of you: I tried using a couple different scripts and they were actually harder than resizing with Edit.
LOL I think I better leave this one alone...now I have to find some other way to cause lag ;P
