Of course, attachments are phantom, so if you attach stilts, they won't raise your height.

But here are two possible ways to do it. I don't know all the technical details, but maybe this will get you started.

* One way is with animations.

In Poser, create a walking animation where the avatar is above the ground.

Then you use an animation overrider to replace the normal walking animation.

I suppose at this point, you would look like you were walking around in the air. Put on the stilts to give the illusion that they are supporting you.

I think this techniqe is used by many mech designers.

** Another way would be to elevate the avatar by script.

Put a script in an attachment that lifts the avatar a certain distance off the ground. This will probably put the avatar in a falling animation, so an animation overrider is probably needed here, too.

I made stilts a long time ago. I attached the stilts, which did nothing... then 'drove' an invisible vehicle with a raised SitTarget and a looped "creep slow" animation. The animation triggered when I was moving. It was kinda neat at the time.

Animation override is definitely the way to go. You can get a free, open source AO here. What it basically does is it replaces the avatar's default animations (run, walk, sit, stand, etc) with any animations of your choosing. So, for example, replace the walking and standing animations with ones that put the av 5M up in the air, and then you can attach 5M stilts to the legs, and it will look like the av is walking on the stilts.

For more on this, I'd suggest you check out how mech avs are made. They use this exact principle. I forget who the creator was, and I don't know if it's still there, but there used to be mech shop at the bottom of a lake somewhere that offered a DIY kit for very little money. You can learn a lot by examining that kit. Do a search for "mech" inworld, and if that store still exists, I'm sure you'll find it.
