I did something I should not have done. My mistake was to link all prims in a structure I created. Then for convenience, I though it would be nice to link the already linked structure to a visitor counter (Linden freebie) that was conveniently lotcated at the physical center of the structure. Now all prims in the structure indicate Linden as the creator. I tried unlinking the Linden visitor counter, then create a basic prim and linking the structure to it. But the creator name is still Linden on the structure...
Maybe I did it wrong. Suggestions please anyone?

The last prim clicked in a set is considered the root prim, and all information for the set (owner, creator, etc) are taken from that root prim for display.
If you clicked the visitor counter first, then shift-clicked the rest of the structure the name should stay yours.
Not sure why if the visitor counter is unlinked that the structure name would keep the linden name. You may want to go through each prim (hope this isnt alot) checking for creator names and remove/replace any offending ones you find.

i have done the same thing, actually what is worse is if you make something completly new out of a full permission prim rezzed by someone else. Then it lists them as the creator. I have done that a few times.

OK, here's what to do: 1. Pick a small item in the linked structure. I picked the little ball on top of the porch bannister. 2. Select the structure. Click "edit linked prim." Click on that small item. UNLINK it. (Hope that this doesn't unlink your whole house, as it has been doing lately. Hope also that you don't wake up to find your whole structure unlinked the next day, as it has also been doing lately." 3. Use the dimensions to create an entirely new small structure. (In my case, the little ball.) Name that little piece the name you want your structure to be. It will automatically be "created by you." 4. Mark the horizontal positions of the new small item the same numbers as the old one. Then move the old one up, and, remembering the up and down position, mark the new, small item the same, which will put it in the place of the old one. (Or just write down all three position numbers of the old item, move it, then put the new item in its place.) 5. Select the entire structure first, then select the new small item and link them. 6. Voila - your whole structure will now have you as the creator. (Except, I believe, the item that caused the problem in the first place, or any such items.) Alternately, unlink the entire structure and make sure you link one item that is created by you LAST. coco

Thanks all, I believe I have done it the way you explained. I will retry tonight. The building in question is over 250 prims...

this is very frustrating. I have done everything described above and all the 112 prims I have created still show Linden as the creator.
WTF?
To recap. this happened when I selected the building (all 112 prims were showing me as creator) then selected the visitor counter last to use it as reference point (for coordinates). I then linked them together. that's when the whole structure showed Linden as creator.
So I unlinked all, deselected the visitor counter, then re-linked the 112 prims....
still showing Linden as creator....
How's that for a bug?

Cocoanut. You method only shows my name as creator as long as you don't unlink. If you unlink, the individual prims still show that I'm not the creator.
This is moot anyway as I have found how it happens. There is a bug... DUH! No! Really? yes. There is a series of steps that will change any prim's creator's name. I have written down the procedure and tested it 3 times, changing the creator's name to someone else and back to mine. It worked everytime.
I have sent a bug report. I will not publish this procedure. I figure I must not be the first one to find this out. I did it by accident, but this could be used to ripoff any object that has mod permission by changing the creator's name to yours, then reselling that object as your creation.
thanks all for the support.
