HI, I am trying to rotate the landscape on a sim by maiputlating the RAW file in photoshop so far with limited success.
If I try to rotate the canvas through 180 deg it just flips the landscape over so that peaks are valley and vice versa. I tried both horizontal and vertical flips, but just ended up with huge spikey peaks which bore no relation to the original.
Can anyone hepk nme with this or suggest where to look next?
Thanks.

Sounds like you're running into trouble with the interaction between channels. Remember in particular, channel 2 is a multiplier for channel 1. If you rotate only channel 1 without also rotating channel 2 to match, you'll mess up the math.

eep, alt account asked the question, but 'twas I all along! Anyway, I managed to solve the problem once I had figured out how Potatoshop wanted to open the file -v- how it should be opened. Job done now

Glad you got it sorted out. What exactly was the problem, just in case anyone else runs into similar issues?

I just assumed that Photoshop would do the right thing with the RAW file. I also wasn't really aware of how raw files work (still not really...).
So, Photoshop wanted to open a 1600x512 single channel file, which was no good. once I had discovered that it ought to be 256x256 x 13 channels, and i specified this to Photoshop, then it was no trouble and everything worked like I expected.
