Since there's quite a few residents who actually use other 3D Modeling Software outside of SL, I thought I'd post a link to THIS
Just saw this the other day & if I had a Webcam I'd give it a try. For those who dont check the link: It's a freeware program developed by a German School (?) that lets you use a Webcam, your computer & a Laser Pointer to make 3D Objects from Real World Objects by scanning them with the laser pointer and saving the file as an OBJ file which can then be imported into programs such as Maya, 3D Studio MAX, Blender (?), Poser, etc. NOW, if they can only develop a Motion Capture suit like this  |

That's awesome. I've always wanted to buy a 3D scanner, but somehow that extra two to ten thousand dollars never seemed to fall into my lap. This is something I'm definitely gonna have to play with. Thanks a bunch for the link.
