Hello,
I just started fooling around with building and I am having a slight issue, I am not sure if it is a limitation or my inexperience though I will describe the problem:
I am trying to add a "plaque" to the side of my main object, I flattened a cube to as small as it would go (.01 m) and I applied the texture to only one side by dragging. I want the other sides of the cube to be black as the object I am attaching it to is also black, but when I do this the texture disappears. Is this a limitation of the game because it applies the color as a tint?
I do not like making the other sides white because there are so many seams showing, please tell me there is a way to do this.
Thank you!

If you use "select texture" you can select one side at a time.
Best way to do this is to make the whole object black and then select the side you want the plaque to be on, then change the colour of that.

This should probably be moved to texturing...

I can apply the texture to one side just fine, the issue I am having is since the remaining 5 surfaces are colored black it darkens-out my texture. When I make them all white, I can see the texture just fine. At first I thought it might be a limitation of building, but I know I must not understand something about the way the texture/color editor works. I should have asked this in texturing instead, but I know this should be easy... any clue of what I am doing wrong?

When you select the texture for that one side, also change that same side's color to white. Leave the other sides black. As Fiona mentioned, the "select texture" box must be checked. Do this *before* selecting the texture you'd like to change.

For some reason I just did not want to acknowledge that little radio button existed! Though I had seen it 1,000 times before I did not NOTICE it until just a bit ago. The gateway has been opened!!!! Thanks
