Can't be done. The physics engine cannot define an object as partly tangible. It's either tangible or intangible (phantom). That having been said, if it's just a room, there's really no need to link everything anyway. It's not like it has to move around. For static objects, linking is little more than a method of organization. Just leave the phantom prim unlinked, and link everything else.

Just put a note in the box telling them how to put it together, or offer install services. It sucks buts its the only way to get it done.

Or script the phantom prim to locate the rest of the structure and move itself into place.

Unless it's the root prim of a building and you don't WANT it to be partly tangible. :)

Another easy solution here is to put the linked room/house out with your phantom prim in the right spot... Make sure both of them are selected and then right click and choose "take" - even tho they aren't linked they'll appear as one single item in your inventory that you can put into the box.

But then you'll probably want to do as Jillian suggests or at least put a notecard in the box explaining that once they take it out of the box, if they are going to move the house they will need to move both the house and the phantom prim.

I'm curious as to how to do that too. I have a secret door on a tower that when pushed slides aside to allow entrance. But whenever I take tower out of pack (I dont have land so it travels with me) the door 'runs' away and goes to where it was when I originally built it.

or you can just use these great items called builder tabs. Since he made them public domain you could attach one to the hantom and one to the building and problem solved. They can even erase themselves via a kill command.

Been there, done that. Here is how you fix it. Set the door in the correct location, with the edit window open, Adjust the door so it is properly located, then before testing it, open the script and reset the script. The door will then recognize its new location and stay there after operating.
