Cracking my brain over prim shape ... any ideas?

I just came across this very interesting build shown in the attached pics. What I'm puzzling over is the ring shape on top of the pillars. It has a diamond-shaped cross-section. And as it is made from one of Gene Replacement's huge prims, the base shape can only be a cylinder. I can't for the life of me figure out how it is done. Any ideas?

it is not path cut but that other parameters that make holes on the poles go from 0.600 to 0.650

That's a really nice build. I love it when people bother to put in shadows. Where is it?

Anybody know where this is? I'm building a room with a dome like this, and I'd like to see what size this one is, if all the glass helps, and how it "feels" inside.

After a lot of wondering whether I'm missing something or everyone else is missing what I've always seen in it, I've now checked the SLURL, and I still say...

40×40×40 Tube, Twist of 47 & 47, Hole Size of .05 & .05. It's that easy ^_^
