Editing and manipulating prims and objects is not easy for some people to grasp. I try and explain myself in chat the best I can but I get very frustrated. My technical writing skills are pretty lacking and I often wish there was a way for other people in world to see the same thing I see on my screen. Things like which prims I have highlighted, how and what I am linking or unlinking, etc. Does anyone know of anything out there to make this possible?

Got a webcam? Point it at your screen. You can video-conference with someone, and they'll be able to see what you see. It's not the most elegant solution, but it works.

With the debug menus visible (ctrl-alt-shift-D) you have access to a Client menu called "Character".

If you enable "show look at" you'll be able to see when someone else sets their alt-cam focus on a prim (pink crosshair), or when they are manipulating it (peach crosshair).

It's not everything you want, but it is handy for when someone wants to point out a specific prim. I've used it with someone to help spot things like gaps, texture misalignments, and having the crosshair visible means it's quick and easy to see which prim is being referred to.

Very cool, Ace. I never knew that was there. That's handy. Thanks.

Thank you Chosen and Ace. I have no webcam, but that would certainly work in a pinch. I will have to try Ace's tip and see if that helps. Sounds like it's definitely handy.

I can try explain things until I'm blue in the face, but many people need a more visual explanation. I found a site put together by Ian Monstre that has some good video tutorials for people who are relatively new to building, textures, and scripting. He covers the basics pretty well and am hoping he adds some more advanced stuff.

I would love to know of any other resources like this.
