Question for NDE door users

After reading another post I don't really want to bother Ken right now with what is probably a silly question. I've set up my NDE doors - double doors, basic note card & volume detect prim. All seems to be working perfectly except that when I walk through the door it hits me in the butt if it doesn't shut in my face. It's opening on cue but closing before I'm off the volume detect prim.

There are so many NDE door users that I figure someone has probably come across this before. What am I doing wrong?

hmm...did u try to make "detect prim" bigger ? probably this will solve problem .

and one more thing i dunno do u know that if u wanna sell /give your building with doors, it wont work with that thing coz it works with uuid , and uuid is different every time when u rez doors...so if wont work check that

Na, I bought the resell version, I can sell the house with the doors. I have made the volume detect prim quite large - as wide as the door, 10m long (5m on each side of the door) and taller than my avatar. I also tried one about the same size but about 1/3 height of my avatar.

The instructions don't say anything about how tall it should be. What size do you guys make your detect prims for NDE doors?

Well Imagin, I'm not sure if you are right. I also have the resell version and made a house with volume detect prims. But I remember that this uuid was indeed a problem. Don't know if that was directly after transfer, or when the person who I gave the house to wanted to rez a second copy of the house. But I had to adjust the volume detect prims by hand each time.

And about the size of that prim: I made it door-wide, just as you have, about a meter high and about 5 meters in length. I haven't used the detect prim for quite a while, so maybe this was effected by Havok 4. If it doesn't change, contact Ken. He helped me out too when I had a question about a month ago.

every object have uuid when u rez... and that uuid is different every time when u rez smt, so if u make a cube it will have one uuid , if u take it and rez again same cube will have different uuid...only avatars have allways same uuid ...okey there is more things with same but objects change it..

and for size...that prim works on coalision , so when avi touch it that object send request to door to open/close...if u put that prim in the middle of room it will work 2 ...when u stand on it , or pass ...so its up on u how far u will put that object ...the best is :make a cube like 2x2 meter and put in the middle of door ..su u will have one meter on each side...and when someone come in the door will open and when he exit from detect prim area the door will close ...

btw , yes i know .... my english sucks :) but im trying

I get that too. Mostly by the third time it's opened it fixes itself for some reason.
Yes/No, don't use the auto prim.
Having all the double doors open at once in a linkset is a peeve of mine. Especially now we can link larger builds <50m.
NDE doors are good though.I guess...

Why would someone want to complicate such a simple device as a door?

Click - Open
Click - Close or let it time out and shut itself

What more could you possibly want?

Not talking about locks or access controls - if someone wants they can go right through the wall anyway.

agree but... :)

u know ppl love all those things... u cant have privacy with locking your doors ... or stop someone to look in your house by setting your win blind ...

anyway ... Imagin Illyar did u solve your probl ?

I switched to RD Doors resell package. I found it easier to set up and no problems.

While we are on doors. Has anyone paid for the Lockable Door V3 seen advertised in these forums recently. I had a look but get the feeling it's a modified freebie along with the free door textures being sold there as well??

Try the NOVA door system, simple menu to set time delay, and stay open- door mat to do an auto door works with time delay that is menu driven in the controller- one version of the system- sell as many builds as you want that will be rezzed next to eachother, single, double doors, sliding doors- lockable curtains! (balcony builds)

NDE doors has a new version (6.0 something) out that fixed the UUID problem and I'ts been working fine for me and my partner. The only problem was getting the upgrade from the creater. My partner is very persistant :))
