How does one make flex prim hair. I have purchased flex hair and edited it. I looks like hundreds of individual prims. I assume it is not.
I love the way it moves.
I want to make a grass skirt from prims.
I can use The Gimp (somewhat) but not photo shop.

Here is a tutorial on making flexiprim skirts. slnatalia.blogspot.com/2006/12/day-97-making-flexi-prim-skirts-with.html
The hair is indeed made of a LOT of prims as it appears. I'm grateful that there are good hair makers in SL. I would not have the patience.

yeah they can be hundreds of prims sometimes depending on the style when it is equiped as hair it doesn't count towards prim count though so that is how you can get away with 50 people wearing prim hair made of 200 prims or whatever same goes with shoes and other such things some of the shoes around are 100 prims (i think that is a bit high but that is just me) all this causes lag so get 20 people with 100+ prim hair 100+ prim boots/shoes and 100+ flexi prim skirts or prim skirts period that's a lot of prims = lotsa lag

From: Wilhelm Neumann all this causes lag Well, only in that all of that prim data will need to be sent to the viewer of an agent when it comes within their draw distance (or some factor based on draw distance, anyway). Once everyone in the area has received all that prim data, there's no additional server load (scripts in the attachments notwithstanding), though client-side frame rates will almost certainly suffer. And in case anyone's wondering, one avatar can theoretically have 7,650 prims attached to it. That's 255 possible prims per link set times 30 attachment points (not counting the 8 HUD attachment points, since I'm assuming that data is only sent to the owner's viewer)

That clears it up. Was wondering. Seen some shoes that looked complex, have some. So it gives me a place to start.
