Hi everybody
I'm still a SL-greenhorn, just bought my 1st land & now busy creating my 1st building. Slowly but steadily coming to terms with the tools, but I still can't keep my neighbor's tree out of my land - & most important - out of my building!! I was going through 'help' & the 'knowledge base' without finding any answer. Maybe somebody could help me solving this problem - keeping that tree's branches and twigs out of my building.
Thanks a lot

Welcome to SL! The solution is actually quite simple...kindly ask your neighbor to move it Because of the phantom properties of the trees/bushes in SL they will poke through buildings and such. Best, ~Ari

Of course a polite request is the best option, but if by some reason the tree is never moved a request at the "Second Life Land Management" forum for a tree removal is an option.

I have the same problem, not only does my land seem to be high altitude causing clouds constantly floating though the building but i also have a huge tree sticking through the side I've asked the guy very nicely to move it a couple of times with no reply, think the next thing i'll do is shove a whacking great big palm tree through his living room, with a bit of luck we'll be able to come to some agrement

Best to post it in Land Management here if he doesn't take it down - you don't want to get into a tree war...

From: Thunder Starbrook I have the same problem, not only does my land seem to be high altitude causing clouds constantly floating though the building but i also have a huge tree sticking through the side The only solution to the tree is for your neighbor or the Lindens to move it for you. As for the clouds, if you bought land that has its surface at roughly 200 Meters altitude, +/- 25 M or so, you're stuck in the perpetual cloud layer that is part of SL. You can't actually avoid them at that altitude. You have three options: 1: Turn off cloud rendering in your client. Everyone else will still see the clouds, but you won't. 2: Don't build at that altitude. Build in the sky above the cloud layer, like at 300M or higher. 3: Sell the land and get new land somewhere else.
