I've been playing with Zbrush for a little while and have completed many beginner tutorials (none of which had anything to do with SL though just using the program) and though I've read TONS of posts about the program I still have some basic questions.
1) From my understanding I need to use another program to get the UV map needed to make the sculpted prim in SL, so where can I find this program? Anyone have a link?
2) As far as texture baking goes I've read so many posts I think I confused myself lol. Do you use a script/plugin for your texture baking or another program? I saw a script on the zbrush central website for shading, but in one of the many posts I read I got the hint that it wasn't needed?
3) Though I've done several tutorials I'm still not comfortable with the program. Do you have any favorite tutorials that helped you get your foot in the door with this program that you could share?
EDIT - I forgot to ask... is there also a way I can import the sculpties I made with sculptypaint into Zbrush so I can touch them up a little?
TIA!
PS: I do have photoshop and use it extensively, not sure if that is needed info or not.

Thanks for the help! I have to bug you a bit more about that... so I created a simple object and imported it to wings, with the suggested install I go to export it to a second life sculpty but it says "unsupported mesh". From the posts on the creators forum they keep mentioning to have created a sphere... tried that too but didn't work.
Is there something extra I need to do to get an imported object from wings to export correctly?

Select the sphere tool and in the initialize pallet set hdivide to 63 and vidivide to 64. Or you can use 31 and 32. You can do any shaping in zbrush as long is it doesn't change the number of polygons. Deformations are good. Edge looping is out. When you are done, export your zbrush tool as an .obj
Did you do the above? Did you add any polygons? The Wings exporter is expecting a specific number of polygons. If it doesn't find that, it will give the error message of unsupported mesh size.

I've been playing with this almost all night x.x I'm testing out wings with a simple cube imported from Zbrush and I'm still getting the message that it's an unsupported mesh This cube is not modified in any way. Is there a certain size that it has to be in zbrush? I have no idea what I'm doing wrong since even a simple cube won't work... ugh! edit to add: Also, just to make sure I understand this right... I actually create the sphere with 64 sections and 63 slices? You mentioned hdivide and vidivide, not sure if that's the same as sections/slices. I'm so sorry to bug ya!

Apple, search around these forums, someone has already posted spheres set up for use in zbrush. Don't force yourself into the work of making them hehe

Sylvia, I did try your directions... however they were lacking direction. I finally figured out what was going wrong. So for future posters who may have the same problem... the sphere mentioned is a sphere you must download unless you are capable of making it yourself. I use zbrush 3 and I could not find the Hdivide for the life of me, not to mention I spent forever thinking the posters here ment make a sphere in Wings 3d with the dimensions of 64 x 63. So, anyway, I use Hyptia Callisto's sphere which you can download here: http://forums.secondlife.com/showthread.php?t=188429&highlight=hypatia+sphere Now what do you do with that sphere? This is where I got confused because all posts refer to morphing this sphere inside of zbrush yet zbrush would not find the file to open/import. Use Wings 3D and import the sphere you downloaded. Export it as an .obj then you can finally import the sphere into Zbrush. Export your creation from Zbrush then you can import it to Wings 3D. Finally, use the SL sculpty download to export it for the last time and get your map use the link below if you need that download http://forums.secondlife.com/showthread.php?t=183764&highlight=hypatia+sphere

I'm not saying you're wrong, but I find it odd that you couldn't just open up her ztool in zbrush and start using it. I never had to open wings3d to get the sphere to work inside zbrush? I'm assuming the download is still the same as when I got it.

When I went to import it into Zbrush the containing folder would show up empty. So I had to open it with wings and then convert it

That's really weird, it sucks you hadda do that extra work. Guess you got yours working though, so that's good Zbrush is really confusing. I'm still trying to figure out many things in it, including how to sculpt using multiple pieces, and it seems you may not be able to do it as easily as I thought. I wish there was more info on Zbrush for Second Life.

I was wondering how we could do multiple objects as well! I guess it's not all that possible Other then cutting into and and completely molding the 2nd object from the first... if that makes sense, like a sculpture ya know? I do love this program though. And for now it's all I need
