Hi, I´m new to SL and I´m sorry to (maybe) ask some silly questions. Hopefully I´m in the right forum. I bought some land and a building (Voodoo designs, red dragon club) I tried to "install" it and I read instructions carefully, but as I´m no native speaker, I had some problems understanding everything right. So I opened the box and all the parts of the building spreat in every direction of the land. Obviously u have to move every part to the right place, but I don´t know how to move. And there are hundreds of different parts, I hope u know what I mean. So is there anyone out there who can help out a desperate newbie? Pleeeeaaaase! I would apreciate some help, maybe there is someone who can come to my land help me, of course I would pay u this effort! thx in advance!

Check with the person who sold it to you. That box is probably scripted to assemble the structure for you. Try rezzing the box on the ground, then touch the box and see if it gives you a menu with options for setting up the house.

Most buildings in SL are made with copy perms, you might want to just start all over. Sometimes if SL is having a "bad day" a previously linked build will fall apart when rezzed, which sounds a bit like what you experienced. I had that happen to one of my customers, the house is most certainly linked but the links completely fell apart when rezzed. Remember, it's not a bug...it's a feature

...the problem is, that the seller doesn´t reply, and the funny thing is that ALL the parts (!) of the house were spreaden in all directions, and I mean 500 metres and more away from my land. I wasn´t able to remove all the things, so I tried to collect all the little things one-by-one by flying around. Some parts were burried or covered in the earth and the earth was uneven, as if someone has digged everywhere. Some parts where in the air high above. It took me at least 20 minutes to collect everything, that´s why I´m afraid to try it once again.

That does sound like an SL issue, rather than a problem with the product itself. It may take the seller a little time to get back to you, they are likely at work right now and not everyone has access to their private email accounts from company computers.

Is your land on the edge of a sim?
I ask this because I seem to remember hearing about the "exploding" effect if part of a linked build is put over a sim line.
Are you sure that the building fits your property? If it's overlapping onto another sim, (or even possibly a neighbor's land with "no build" restrictions) when it tries to rez, that could make it explode.

Ouch! What a mess.
That does sound like you tried positioning the house overlapping the edge of the sim, or sticking too far into someone else's land. I helped someone to set up a large home once, and it exploded like that because part of the build initially rezzed over someone else's land, and that neignhbor's land was protected by a very agressive security orb.
A suggestion. Turn on the view menu option that allows you to see who owns the land. That will make your land green and most everything else red. Makes it a lot easier to decide where you can position the house.
A different way to handle that is to place a couple prims right at the edges and corners of the property. That way you can see normally, but you have clear markers for your property line.
If you are unsure how the house pop's out of the box, you may want to rez it first in a large public sandbox. Most of the builders that I know either place the rez box where the front door will be, or they place it at one corner of the building. The script will assemble the house relative to the position of the box when you tell it to build.
