I've been looking around and finding seamless textures, but not an answer to my direct question.
I'm building a structure that has a glass ceiling comprised of 4 10X10 panels. I colored the glass a light yellow and made it 50% transparent.
My problem is I see very obvious seams where the panels are against one another.
Is there anything I can do to eliminate that? If not I've already considered incorporating ornamental beams to cover the seams.
Heh... seam beams. lol

YES!!
Make the edges that arent on the ouside (So th ones you're seeing through the glass essentially) textured with a full-alpha transparency textre. If you get the blocks aligned perfect, there will be no seams this way. I found it annoying too lol

Now the question is - is there such a texture available or am I misunderstanding? I understand texturing individual sides of prims if this is an actual texture you're talking about...

I'm having the same problem with the seams showing on linked glass prims.
Could someone kindly send me a transparent texture to fix this?
Thanks in advance!

you don't actually need another texture, instead, before you apply your glass texture/color drop the following script in the glass prim, and then only texture/color the sides you need... default{ state_entry(){ llSetAlpha( .0, ALL_SIDES ); //-- 0 Opacity (inversed from transparency) llSetTexture( "5748decc-f629-461c-9a36-a35a221fe21f", ALL_SIDES ); //--the 'blank' texture llRemoveInventory( llGetScriptName() ); //-- remove the script afterwards } }

for most people, shoving a texture on is probably simpler, but cool thx ^^

That's a nice doubly-effective script there, but... you misspelled llSetAlpha.

Very cool! Tried it and it worked great. Thanks for the script, will come in very handy in the future.

Call me pedantic but isn't your script just actually using another texture? So you still do need it? Hehe

From: Ee Maculate Call me pedantic but isn't your script just actually using another texture? So you still do need it? Hehe actually you don't NEED that line, but it was incuded because it's presumably a smaller file size texture than the default plywood, or what a user migh add... and completely unneccesary if the user applies their window texture to all sides (but since the instructions are to change textures/alpha on a perside basis I threw it in for a small improvement) @Al: thanks for the catch, edited & fixed @general: w/o knowing the actual size of the full alpa texture, that script should be equally or less intensive for the viewer, and can be improved by using the glass texture on all sides, which is better than both (less load on the vid card)
