This is horribly embarrassing.
I'm putting together my first little house, and I'd like to put in a door. I have a door that says touch for open, but when I touch it, it does nothing.
I've tried this with a couple of different doors, double checked that they do actually have scripts in them, and still nothing.
Any idea as to what obvious, basic, remarkably silly thing I'm overlooking?
Many thanks.

Those most obviously problem is have you got the door built from two pieces and is the script in the hinge piece? Most ( all that I'm aware of ) door scripts rotate the prim, so you need a slip hinge piece for the door to rotate around.

Many thanks. Hey Eleanor, congrats on your first post. I have a script that I can pass to you that, when put in a prim, automaticly shapes and textures the prim to make it into a door. From there, you can put whatever texture you want on it, and position it whereever you want. It sounds like the scripts you use, might not work. I'll give you a script when I get in-game if nobody has done so.

thank you both!
Katier - so, there needs to be a script in the doorframe as well?
nimrod - thank you, I'd really appreciate that.

nimrod - thank you, I'd really appreciate that. Np! It'll be a couple hours before I'll be able to get in though. I'll make it the first thing I do when I login.

No - the way I know of doing it you create a very small tall rod ( usually a rod but can be any shape) and link that as the root prim to the hinge side of the door. the Door open script goe's in the rod giving the door something to rotate around. Any door frame is unlinked to the door. You can of course add extra detail prims to the body of the door and linked to the door.
