Okay, I have little prim shapes, and when I attatch them to my hips, I think that they are going inside the avatar, and I can't figure out how to get them and move them. I know this may be a stupid question, but yeah, I'm still slightly learning. Did my first texture job last night and it turned out lovely!

Try standing on a Posing Stand, then adjusting them.
If you can't grab them, try attaching them to different part of your body, like your nose lol.

Nope, I'm on a posing stand and they aren't there. And if I attatch them to my nose, how is that going to help me if I need them on the hips? XD

I'm not sure if it works with attachments, but you could try opening the Edit Window (ctrl+3) while you're wearing the item, and drag the yellow box around the rough area you think they should be.Just hold left mouse button and drag to open the yellow box.
Then you can proceed to adjust them to the correct place on your avie.

Ok.
The other thing i suggest is, goto the VIEW tab up top of your screen and click CAMERA CONTROLS. This should open a little window so you can manipulate your camera. Try to move it so it is inside your body by your hips and then with the Edit window open, click the item and drag it so its visible outside of your body.

Using the Debug Menu

I don't have SL installed on this machine, so I can't tell you how to do it, but if you go to the debug menu, (ctl-alt-d) you can turn off avatar rendering. Then you can see stuff that gets stuck inside of you. (There is a hot-key combination, but I don't remember what it is)

The only problem though,is that you still cannot select it from a distance. You still get the Pie-chart with appearance/profile/ect as if you just right clicked yourself.

Have you tried making them bigger with ctrl + shift and attaching then shrinking them with ctrl + shift?(if you drag the gray boxes SL keeps the dimensions proportionate) saw posts didnt see the answer right off..lol.. sry
