Unable to modify even though I have permission?

Problem corrected. Thanks for the help, everyone.

I have a house that the permissions say I can modify. I shared it out to the group. I am the group owner and have that group activated.

When I try to edit any piece of the house, it briefly takes the new size, and then snaps right back to it's original size. I'm just trying to take a simple 10m and make it 8m wide instead.

Anyone have any ideas what is going wrong?

Lag?
try resizing it using the Numbers in teh EDIT box instead of using your mouse. Several have reported that it works better taht way when SL is being persnickety.

I have been trying it using the numbers. Tried dragging after the numbers didn't work. I can MOVE the objects, I just cannot change their size.

I've seen this happen occasionally and it may or may not have anything to do with lag. Occasionally the prim will resize back to original sizes even after being edited with either the ctrl-shft drag tools or entering the numbers manually in the edit menu. My fix for this is to unlink (ctrl-shft-L) the prim, edit it to the size neeeded, then link the prim again (ctrl-L). Hope this helps.

if it is linked parts and your trying to resize one piece you will need to unlink that one piece resize it and then relink it

I've already done that. When resizing one single unlinked prim, it does not hold the change, but springs back to its original size. I have tried everything I can think of. I don't see anything in the settings that would prohibit me (the building gave me a copy that I could modify).

I finally fixed the problem. It shouldn't have been a problem, but it was.
Thanks for the suggestions, everyone.
