i cant seem to find a way to unlink if i mess up

CTRL+SHIFT+L to unlink, its also in the 'Tools' menu.

To just unlink one prim...
R-Click and Edit your object. Select 'Edit Linked Prim' (I'm not inworld, so the text might be slightly different) Click on the Prim you want to remove. Make sure you only have that Prim highlighted Click Tools -> Unlink That prim alone will then be unlinked, the others will remain linked as before. Saves having to unlink them all and re-link, possibly missing some. _____________________

You must see if you have permission to edit the object. If you are the creator it is okay, but if you bought it somewhere, check if the item is MOD.
Before unlinking it is better to look which object is hilighted as yellow (yellow means parent prim, blue means child prims) there will be only 1 parent prim per object so when you link them again be sure to select last the parent prim or select all, deselect the parent prim and reselect it and then link. _____________________
