howdy.. sorry im sure this has been asked a million times before i just cant be bothered to search ... anyway im a 3d artist i use 3ds max... anyone know or have any good tutorials on how to go about building and setting up models in max or any other 3d package (i can port to all) for use in SL? .. specifically avatars . even a point in the right direction would be good..

nevermind forget it .. lol just had a read of the maya questions post.. nm .. ill just have a go at playing with prims.. bloody inefficient if you ask me.. oh well! fingers crossed they sort out some form of obj importing and some modelling guidelines down the track ..

I felt the same way when i started but give prims a chance youll be suprized. you need to be more creative sometimes, look at how things are made if you select someones object you can see the individule prims, and remember your doing this real time now no waiting for rendering (for hours a frame) and actualy i like prims beter now. but sketchup is awesome way to build 3D i hope SL changes to an interface like that. -LW
