Copybot my own item?

So, I built something a while back, from scratch. Took it into my inventory, set perms, put it on sale, etc.

These days when I try to rez it, I lose permissions. It's showing full perm in my inventory, but on rez it becomes no copy, no mod, no trans.

I've filed two support tickets, and both have been closed without helping me. I'd hate to rebuild all the prims, remake all the tinies, and figure out all the angles all over again, seems like it would be easier to get a good copybot program and make a copy that way.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Use the Meerkat viewer and back it up then reconstitute the backup.

Meerkat doesn't back items up from your inventory and won't backup items you don't have full perms on. It doesn't help me at all.

You can try other more notorious viewers but I'm not sure I'd risk that..

Sometimes, it's just a matter of doing tickets until you get somebody willing to help.. :\

They told me there's apparently a texture in there that broke perms, and that I should unlock it and take the offending texture out.

Thing is, when I rez it, I lose perms. Can't remove textures from a no-perm item. Otherwise I already would have and I'd be having no problems.

Thus the ticket.

Only other suggestion would be to go to an uberlinden's office hours - Andrew, Babbage, Pathfinder, etc - and beg for them to fix it for you. Even if they just unlinked it or shot the offending texture.

Not sure they can do that easily but they can (IIRC) take full perm copies of things if they're in god mode. Maybe they could do that, fix it up, and send it back to you. Having proof that you own full perm copies of all the bits in there *might* make them a bit more willing to help.

LL has pretty strict rules about god mode - they may not be able to help, even if it's technically possible.

edit: actually, they'd just need to unlink it. You could then pick up the coalesced object and toy with it later to find the prim with the offending texture in it.

Is it that way on Aditi, too? If not you could backup there. (Yes, I realise the suggestion is probably no help).
