Hello all,

I made an outoor bench (hollowed out 1/2 circular prime) to put in my yard. When I tried sitting on it, a message pops up and say something like, “there is no place to sit, select a different surface’. I zoomed in and click on several places but got the same result. I eventually found only a one place that I could sit. I tried to increase the surface area, but still giving the same results. Why doesn’t it let me sit where I wanted? Any suggestions or tips?

I thank you for your time.

Without a sit position set, it is trying to find a spot flat enough to sit on. If you use a 'poseball' script and play with it a bit you can make the bench into a poseball, with a sit position wherever on it you set it, and you won't get that message.

the solution to sitting on most benchs or similar items that don't have a sit position specified by a script is to stand in front of the object, where you want to be facing when you sit, right click and choose sit, on the front edge of the object, not the top surface... works 9of10 times on the first try...

for stuff you make, look into
sit position scripts (easy, scripts are removable after [unless you want custom animations], but only sets one point per prim),

poseballs (many freely avalable, allows custom poses, requires scripts, one person per poseball),

or multi-sit, (which combines all the other possible features, requires scripts, and can be a pain to set up, but allows multiple positions per prim, and doesn't require an extra prim like a poseball)
