builder's skybox and deleting floor beneath me...

Hello Everyone,

I apologize in advanced for the newbie-related question.

In several instances, when trying to build various objects, I've utilized the "builder's skybox", at altitude, to help align various prims; as well as gain "some" privacy.

Every once in awhile, when attempting to delete something, I end up deleting the floor from beneath me....which leads me to free-falling and wondering what just happened. Needless to say I end up having to reclaim all of my items and de/re-rezz my skybox.

I'm curious if there is a way to make the "floor" of this skybox un-deletable/un-selectable??

Thank you again. ^_^

Set it as "locked" in the Object tab. (^_^)

Every sky-builder does that at least once. Locking the floor is the answer. Handy to remember even if you're in a studio on the ground, so you don't accidentally delete your house while editing prim hair, or whatever...

Incidentally, you *should* be able to just fly up or ride a prim back up there, re-rez the skybox, adjust its position, and continue building. No need to reclaim the build and start over.

Yep, locking it is the solution, it doesn't prevent you from deleting the object, but the warning window popping up warning you it's a locked object will catch you from deleting it. Definitely a newbie question, but that's what the forums are for :). Once, I was working on a physical object on my platform and I forget to uncheck physical before editing the linked parts. As soon as I deselected the object, all the pieces fell, and since it was phantom, fell through the platform and all the way down to my land below. Needless to say, I was digging out pieces for months !!!
