Importing terrain slices between Raws

Hi,

I have two Raw files - one of an older state of my sim, and another of the current state.

I wish to copy the terrain from a certain parcel over to the same parcel on the new terrain - thereby restoring its original terrain shape.

Unfortunately, it appears that the height multiplyer on channel 2 has a radically different value then the height multiplyer on the second Raw file. This is making me afraid of using the usual Photoshop copy/paste solution.

Does anyone knows if there's a dedicated tool that will allow me to execute this transfer with less risk of damaging the rest of the sim's terrain? Or, alternatively, is there a safe way to transfer the parcel slice from one Raw to another despite the difference in height multiplyer?

Off the top of my head, no special tool. I think you will have to do some arithmetic.

Select the parcel in both old and new.

Copy just that part in old. Paste it into new.

If the old multipler was, say, 128, and the new one is 32, then the newly pasted parcel will seem way to flat. Multiple all the values in it by four. The other way around, divide by 4.

Again, this is just a rough idea to get you started. You probably want to work on copies til it seems right.
