The one i am trying to convert is the standard head OBJ file This tutorial explains how to get the UV mesh to unwrap: http://www.atomcrafts.com/Tutorials/Baking/include/03_Prepare.htmlThat said, I am not sure how possible it is to turn the avatar mesh into a sculptie using standard Blender tools. I know Chip Midnight posted some tutorials concerning doing something like that using 3ds MAX, but I don't think the tools he used exist in Blender. If there's a tutorial out there explaining how to turn standard meshes into acceptables sculpty meshes in SL, I'd be very interested.

Heh, everything is possible, it's just the question if it's worth it.
The way I see it, to get a decent-looking sculptie will involve redefining the seams in order to get a perfect UV map, and then lots and lots of pushing vertices around in the UV editor.
Perhaps throw some vertex manipulation (subdividing, converting tris to quads, editing edge loops) in to get closer to a 32x32 cylindric topography

There are some tutorials on just that... The tutorials and critics are in this thread: /8/75/257428/1.html Gaia appreciates constructive feedback and information on where people have problems with the tutorials. So, help out and let Gaia know what you think will improve them. The tech discussion is in this thread: /8/60/203571/1.html Only the latter part of the threads deal with Nurbs.
