Trying to edit but position, size znd rotation seem stuck. Wont let me change things. I reset the router and computer.

FPS - 13.9
Bandwidth - 19
Packet Loss - 0
Ping Sim - 73

Any suggestions? What could be causing this problem? :(
It will let me use the arrows but NOT enter in numbers.

What does "stuck" look like? You said you can use the "arrows." Does that mean you have numbers in those edit fields that you can change with the little up-down arrows on the field boxes, but which refuse to let you change them any other way? I mean, does "stuck" mean that you can't edit those fields at all, or only that you can't type in numbers? Or, do you mean that you can move your obect around with the red/green/blue edit arrows?

it means i can move the measurement with the little arrows - but to go in and try to change it manually is not working.

I do see, but cant manipulate the numbers manually

As a result i cant do any fine tuning at all.

Bummer. I thought that's probably what you meant, but I had to ask. So, next questions .... Is this problem restricted to one particular object, or are you having the same problem no matter what you edit? Does the same problem occur if you go to another sim and trying editing there? Does the problem persist if you delete the SL client from your computer and re-install it? You've probably asked youself these same things, but if not, they might help you figure out whether it's a simulator problem, a corrupted client program on your computer, or something wonky with whatever you are trying to build.

No easy solution is leaping to my mind right now, so all I can suggest is to try some of these experiments to understand the dimensions of the problem and rule out some of the possibilities. For what it's worth, I'm not having the same problem today, so it's not a universal bug.

Dang - It happens in other sims. I uninstalled and put in a fresh download....still wont let me enter in numbers. Could I have hit a wrong button somewhere?

That pretty much limits it to a client-side problem, doesn't it? And if you downloaded a new client and re-installed, it sounds like it's not a corrupted program on your end. More likely some setting that you changed accidentally, either in your Preferences or in the Edit menus. I can't imagine what it would be, though. I hope Chosen or Ceera, or another one of the more experienced crowd have a clue.

You didn't actually say, but I'm assuming that this isn't just a problem editing one object, right? You have the same problem editing any object?

Well, I hate to admit it, but I'm stumped now. At least we know where the problem is, but I have no more ideas about what's causing it. I can't go in world on the machine I'm using right now, but if I have any brilliant insights this evening when I CAN get in, I'll let you know. For now, swear and kick the machine a few times while you wait for another, wiser troubleshooter to chime in.

Sorry.

Is your numlock or scroll lock turned on?
