I am looking for a mentor, that may be willing to take on an apprentice, I am fantastic at flying them but apparently am a wretched designer. Even if there is a tutorial somewhere, every little bit helps. Thanks for your time..

There are some great tutorials out there, and the Linden Scripting Language guide actually has a lot of (what I consider) detailed information, but some tips and tricks are just easier to pass on first hand. I have a lot (a lot) to learn myself, so I'm not exactly the Pai Mei of building ![]() |

Cubey Terra also makes a fantastic do-it-yourself airplane kit, for sale at his store in Abbotts. It includes a pile of airplane parts and scripts, all of them free to copy and modify. It's a decent starting point for a new aircraft; you can assemble it, then start tinkering with the script to see what happens when you change its parameters.

He also hosts aircraft 101 classes every so often, this ones already been held, but there might be another one soon.. _____________________

Did we also mention that Chage is incredibly good-looking and smart as a whip?

Cubey just gets all the newcomer attention because he's mentioned by name on the main website...
There are plenty of other Aircraft designers out there who seem to be gunning for his spot as "Top Dog" in the AC field, though, so if Cubey is busy or you can't get a hold of him, I am sure you can call on just about anyone who responds to this thread. Not that we're experts, but if we all share together, each knows more when s/he leaves that when s/he came. BTW, do futuristic spacecraft count as aircraft? Just askin'. |
