Hello, I think I already know the answer I'm going to get, but here goes anyhow:

Can anything be done in a situation when one of your neighbours purchases land, constructs an extremely ugly build, and then dissapears (for over a month)? The person in question appears to have quit SL, but I dont have any proof of that, just circumstantial evidence (profile looks vacant).

Several of my neighbours have also commented on the disgusting build (It's not vulgar, its just ugly).

Unfortunatly the land in question is not for sale, so it appears that none of us are going to be getting rid of that build anytime soon.

Unfortunately, there's not really anything you can do yourself. As long as they're paying for the land, it's theirs to do with as they please, regardless of how seldom they log in. If they stop paying, then their account will go into a dormancy period for 60 days, during which time they can renew without losing their name and inventory, but their land holdings will only last for the first 30 days of that period. In other words, they've got a 30 day grace period to pay up or be evicted.

So, if they stop paying their tier, you've got a chance, but there's no telling when or if their term might be up. If they paid a year in advance, you could end up waiting upto 13 months before their garbage goes away.

Have you tried sending this person a friendly IM asking to work together to come up with something you both would like? Even if he or she doesn't log in much these days, he or she might still have IM to E-mail turned on. Can't hurt to try.
