Have you tried setting the compatibility to XP SP2?

Micheal,
I run Wings 3D on my Vista machine and it works great. I can't recall if I had any problems with the initial install, but my overall fix for Vista issues is to right click on the program, bring up properties, and set compatability mode to Windows XP SP2. -Lupo |

That would be consistent with my suspicion that it is your graphics card driver. What graphics card do you have? Have you looked to see if there is an updated driver? i have an ATI Radeon X200. and i updated it too...im wondering if my graphics card just isnt powerful enough..in that case i might ust go down and buy a really good one that might last for a while |

From your description, it sounds to me like it is the Erlang interpreter itself that is crashing. I checked the Erlang documentation and it says that if Erlang aborts, it writes a file named erl_crash.dump in the current directory. See if you have such a file on your machine. If so, post it and I'll see if I can make any sense out of it. |

Wings crashes

As a long time Wings user, I can confirm that Wings has been historically very picky about which computers it runs on. Make sure you have updated drivers, not only for your video card, but for your motherboard, etc. Update everything. Close all other programs before running Wings (especially SecondLife). If you continue to have problems make sure there isn't some other problem at fault. It may be helpful to run Memtest to make sure you don't have RAM problems.
