How do you modify an avatar to make it so you have normal movement?
Basically, I know what I need to do/a general idea, I just don't know how to go about doing it, heh. Well, that's my problem for most things in the building department
I bought a full prim avatar of a robotic suit. However, it is person size and the thing it is based off is about 12 feet tall. I have made a duplicate of the avatar that is the the proper height, but now the problem is getting it to work out all fine and dandy.
I know I need to some how get my regular avatar's, the human one, default position to be about a meter to a meter and a half in the air, but I don't know how to do that. I'm guessing it's some sort of AO that moves you up in the air, but I only know basic object making and texturing.

True, an AO would be the way to do it. That involves scripting and animation, no building, if you've already got the prim parts done. Visit the animation forum as well as the scripting forum for advise on that. Unfortunately, I'm a total noob with scripting, and even worse with animation.

There are macro AVs that are something like 30m high, and the way it's done is with an animation. Two ideas: --- There was a do-it-yourself macro AV/mech kit around, you might be able to find it by following up with one of the people in this short thread: /8/05/146703/1.html--- I know macro AVs are sold at the NorthStar mall, and are frequently seen in the sandbox for that sim. Maybe there's some freebie help lying around there. You may meet with more help if you go as a furry ... <edit>p.s. Welcome to the forums, Tygar! .

The freebie bumblebee mech avatar had a sit animation in it that was x meters off the ground causing the avatar (somewhat normal sized) to be x meters above the ground so that one could attach the larger than life parts. This worked well for me when I created a giant burning man avatar.

How would I lower the height though? 4M is a little bit too height, heh heh.
~~~ Well, putting the script and animation into another object seems to cause problems. Like, either I won't stay in their all the time, like while moving compared to standing, or when I take off the object, I'll go up in their and before I wasn't.
I have figured out that I need a 2M one for what I want to do.
