Problems with sculpted prims

I just made a texture for a sculpted prim and when I go upload the preview shows the sculpted prim correctly. But after upload, when I apply it to a sculpted prim, the sculpted prim looks like a ball with a hole and not the image that the preview had shown. And it happens doesn´t matter the texture that I apply to change the prim shape. Anyone could help me to solve that?

Sounds like either your sculpt map is flipped or else you made your sculpty wrong. If it's the former, simply flip the sculpt texture horizontally in Photoshop. If it's the latter, I can't tell you how to fix it without knowing how you made it in the first place.

Tomiko was applying the sculpt texture in the Texture tab and not the Object tab. An easy mistake to make, especially as the object type drop-down isn't that obvious a place to look when making a sculpted prim.

Ah, good catch, Nand. I guess the "ball with a hole in the middle" was the default apple shape. Seems so obvious in retrospect, but I probably wouldn't have thought of that in a million years.

You're using Maya?

I've seen this mysterious ball to, it's not the apple. It appears when you forget to check the "correct orientation" box in the exporter.

That was my first thought as well, Snowflake, which was I why I had suggested Tomiko flip the texture over. To hear Nand tell it though, that wasn't the problem.

*nods* She was using Wings3D to make her sculpties. The first question I asked was if she had the same problem with any other sculpt textures (i.e. nice way of asking do you know how to apply the texture).
