I am proud to announce my first "real" sl build using Eastern and Western style domes (see screen shot below). Thinking about the design concept and finding land took several days.. surveying the land and figuring out how to comply with zoning rules took another day.. and the build proper took about 36 elapsed hours with much time spent learning and cursing. But it's up yay! Of particular interest (stop yawning you!) are having an Eastern style (concave) dome on the outside (complying with zoning) and a Western style dome (convex) within (for look and feel). In hindsight merging East and West fit perfectly with the theme of the build which is countries of the world getting along better. ANYway.. I am posting here to brag but ALso to acknowledge the substantive help of: 1. The Ivory Tower of Primitives tutorial space, 2. This Building Forum for the extremely helpful threads and posts, and 3. ShapeMaker. ty ty ty ! USC Public Diplomacy Virtual Worlds Project Build - Pictoral Walkthrough USC Public Diplomacy Virtual Worlds Project Build - In-World Landmark

USC Second Life Virtual Worlds Center Detailing...
04-04-2006 01:51
Added more detailing including second door (feng shui flow don't ya' know), interior furnishings (ack easier to find Japanese than Chinese but they look nice), minimum landscaping (fireflies!) and waterfall with small shrine. Oh and waves on the sea too. Somehow the sims bordering right and bottom got moved, so now it's literally the corner of its own little world . Several meetings held here already and another project's on the move! Sunset view of USC Second Life Virtual Worlds Center showing main meeting hall in foreground, info displays to left, and waterfall shrine far right.
