Having a bit of spare hillside by my house, I was going to try and build a waterfall. There are various textures and a couple of scripts provided in the library, but no instructions. Experimentation has only resulted in an object that sends up a jet of steam like a chimney. Any advice?

Edit the water prim and go to the textures tab then change the Rotation (near the bottom) until the water is going in the right direction. If it is going up now rotate it 180 so it will go down.

But how do I animate it so that it flows?

Hi Clarissa

You will have a script called anim SMOOTH in your library, just drop a water texture and that script onto your prim and off it goes!

Clarissa, you can also stop by the SL Botanical Gardens in Federal. I have 5 waterfalls (including one by the famous Ms. LaFollette) that will give you ideas on how to build one for yourself as well as show a variety of techniques.

Hi Clarissa...Pls visit Port Abattoir Designs, my waterfalls shop in Ku..or Story Book Island in Hikuela :)) There you'll find 'how to' books about creating waterfalls, lakes and rivers in Second Life. You can see the kind of work I do from looking at my 'picks' in my profile. A portfolio of my work is also found at the above mentioned locations. Everyone develops their own technique, but there are some basics for you in the book! If you feel you do like the way I do falls, pls IM me! I offer tutoring on an as needed basis. I'm usually doing waterfalls or rivers or lakes by commission and 'work' in the very early morning or late afternoon est..:) Good luck...and above all...HAVE FUN!!
