Building a pre fab house with positioning pins. To delete pins, instructions say to select "individual" in the tool palette. Can't find this. Is it the same as edit linked parts?

My guess would be that you need to unlink it first --
Select the linkset with the pin in it -- hit ctrl shift L to unlink and then BEFORE deselecting, shift click the pin itself to remove it from the selected set, then hit CTRL L to link everything but the pos pin back together. Then select the pin and delete.
Hope that helps.

"Select Individual" is an old option that no longer exists in the build tool. It allowed you to select and unlink a single prim from a linkset without unlinking the whole linkset. "Edit linked parts" works in a similar way, but you can do far more to the prim without unlinking. To get rid of the positioning pins, choose "Edit linked parts", select the pins (use shift-click to select more than one at a time), and hit control-shift-L to unlink them from the linkset. Be sure you only have the pins selected before you delete. And you might want to tell whoever made the prefab to update their instructions.

Can't delete it

Can separate the pin from the structure, but can't delete it. If I link all after separating, it deletes the linked piece as well.

You have to Shift deselect the pin piece before linking it all back together. Read my post above closely for an easy method.

From: yrdbrd Zeluco Can separate the pin from the structure, but can't delete it. If I link all after separating, it deletes the linked piece as well. You're using edit link parts to select and unlink it right? You have to uncheck the edit linked parts box before you try and delete the pin, it won't let you delete it while you have it checked. And don't forget to make sure you only have the object you want to delete selected
