Problems when editing linked builds

Hi,

There's always 2 different problems when I use the edit linked prim option to edit some stuff I, in no way, can unlink to change.

-The prim that is being edited goes back to it's original size. Other specifics such as hollowness, cutting and twist never get reversed though.

-The entire build unlinks for no apparant reason while editing.

Is anyone else having these problems and is there anyone who knows a way to work around these problems?

Thanks

I am having the very same problems - extremely frustrating. Yesterday, I even experienced a new bug - I clicked to edit a build that was made up of 30 or so prims, and the entire thing changed to a new texture. I had not even selected texture to edit!

I've had all of these things happen before, even pete's texture issue. Really annoying. All we can do is grin & bear it, and keep the bug reports flowing. They'll squash them all sooner or later. I have faith.

One thing that happens to me that is REALLY frustrating:

While editing the position of a linked prim, the entire linkset vanishes. Not flickers or has some weird camera thing happen. It VANISHES. I can walk around, turn my avatar, and the thing still isn't there. This is completely client-side, too, since other people can still see it. Weird bug, but I haven't reported it yet because I can't come up with a consistent reproduction. At least it rarely happens.

Yes, I have recently built some critter houses and the entire thing became unlinked after I had finished it. So frustrating.

It is a pain to have to unlink an entire scripted object, edit it, then relink the whole darn thing again in the same order so that the scripts still work. The linked object build bugs are quite annoying.

Ditto on everything previously mentioned. Another bug that i have encountered.....
copying prims, at first are identical in everyway they can be.... then out of no where upon link or unlink, they suddenly are NOT the same size, nor are they at the strectch originally copied from. I sure can unnerstand bout the frustrating parts, have submitted bug reports several times but no replies or anything thus far.

Makes it VERY hard to create a house, in the fashion that i do, hollowed box, cut for corners, etc, copy and revers for opposite sides. Once they shift out of alignment, its either start all over again or create something different, because they never mesh up again.

I have had the vanishing trick happen, though with mine, link or unlink, or even texture change will make everything vanish except the piece i am workin with, but movement of the camera brings it back... VERY ODD

Several link problems are at issue right now. There is a verified problem with items not linking at all-- stating that they are too far apart from one another... when they're only 3 to 10m away. An official test has been done on links as simple as two basic prims... only to have the link fail. Since this problem is intermittent, it will likely be difficult to trace.

Forcythia Wishbringer found a temporary "fix" to the "items turning invisible" problem: change to a different group title, then change back again. We don't know why-- but this is especially affective if you discover another avatar is near you but totally invisible to you (which is a recent development that is happening with alarming frequency-- alarming because even the avatar name isn't present). What is odd in such instances is that any prims worn by the avatar will still be visible-- but not the av itself. Switching to another group title and back seems to fix this problem-- and may give Linden Labs a handle on what might be causing it.
